Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.

Hi Not a question, but was told yesterday by a client that, they would dedicate this weekend to getting their information ready for their self assessment " to help me out" ,as they realise I only have a week to get their accounts completed and self assessment completed, signed and submitted. Don't you just love this sort of helpful organised clients

Hilarious!

I just had one who with less than 10 days to go who was ringing for a 'friend' - what the hell is that about?

Second words out of her mouth - well he lost his wife. Can I do his tax return - only personal income on it. Oh but then admitted he was self employed. Well he lost his wife and has had no time. Looked after her whilst having chemo. Yet he had time to work. Clearly a horrendous time, but also clearly thinking the sympathy vote would work.

Oh but he liked what he saw when he did a google search. I havent even got a website!!!!

Oh I know, but you are not far from us and we saw you on google! But its just for the first 3months of the year, despite him being self employed for longer. Well he hasnt even interred his wife's ashes yet. Oh and its just the tax return! No previous paperwork available from previous Accountant.

It turns out its not 'just' - to top all the other lack of 'stuff' he is a CIS subbie!!!!

Err - no chance, no capacity.

So - can you recommend someone. Only people I dont like or dont know - it is almost the end of January. Provided a couple of names from yellow pages (so to speak).

Can he come back to you after they have done, for next year.

Why oh why would you change Accountant if some kind soul had been accomodating within the last 10 days of the year?!!!
