I have a new client who has not filed a tax return for 6 years, they have never been self-employed but had an accountant file tax returns for them as they had dividends, shares and pensions.
Turns out they have overpaid quite a bit of tax over the last 5 year.
This client has no UTR, how do I go about filing tax returns for them for the last 5 years...does anybody know please?
Confused. You say he hasn't done. A tax return, but then you say the Accountant did them. So surely the Acountant can hand ov the UTr and copies with the usual prof etiquette letter and client authorisation?

Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.
