Yes Prison Break was certainly up there with some of my favourite shows but I thought like a lot of things they went a bit far with the amount of seasons that they filmed, in fact I started season 4 ages ago and still not managed to finish it.
I don't think I have a favourite show as such but if I had to choose it would probably be Sean Bean (not Mr Bean) in Sharpe, I still get the box set out and watch some episodes now and again but must admit it seems very dated now compared to all the new shows.
At the moment I am watching Narcos about Pablo Escobar as well as Vikings but have not had time to finish them due to workload and studies, but from what I have seen so far they are both worth a watch.

It had some quite weak episodes in the first season, but once the story arc kicked in it really gelled. And an important point is that story arc wasn't made up as they went along - which a lot of current shows seem to do - JMS (the guy who came up with it) had the five-year story arc planned out from the start.
Unfortunately, just as in a military context "no plan survives contact with the enemy", the same was true of this - so there were problems that meant changes and compromises had to be made, but overall it still worked, and remained as true to the original arc as possible.

Cracker New Tricks (which I've just started watching from the very beginning) Spooks Prime Suspect (which I've just finished watching all the way through)
You'll notice there's not a single american programme there. Don't know why but I don't get their humour and I don't get hooked on the drama. That said I have watched a few NCIS and CIS episodes and enjoyed them.

Isn't there supposed to be a new addition to prison break before long?
Trouble is with box-sets is that I watch too many when I should be doing other things - I dare not watch one in the day!
A few to check out there!

Someone mentioned a new season of Prison Break to me recently (I have yet to see the last season and a half of the old stuff) - and a couple of days ago I noticed two or three episodes on either Netflix or Amazon, listed as episodes from season five with air dates this month . I guess those are the first episodes of the new season, having aired in Overpuddle.

I don't watch it Vince but they're already airing over here on Now TV.
The channel is Fox. Two episodes have currently aired.

Yes, I mentioned that the first two or three episodes are on Amazon or Netflix today to the chap that told me it was coming, and he also said it was now airing on Fox as well. I don't get Fox on my TV package - but it doesn't matter anyway; I still have to watch the rest of the old stuff, and when I do I can watch the new episodes via whichever of those services it's on.
(I get a bit confuzzled what stuff's on which service because I have an Amazon Fire stick, and if you have Netflix and install the app on it, it's reasonably seamless - you can search on Amazon, and it will show Netflix results if there are any that match*. I like that - shame it doesn't work with other apps, such as the iPlayer one, etc)

My all time favourites, which I re-watch every couple of years and in no particular order:
24
Sopranos
Desperate Housewives
Dexter
The Unit
Strike Back
X-Files - VERY pleased to see another 10 episodes will be aired later this year
Millenium
Scandal
The Good Wife and the new spin off The Good Fight
Supernatural
I've seen the first 2 episodes of the new prison break, seems OK, curious to see there they will be going with it.
