financial year and program date during computerised accounting exam

Hi guys

I have question in relation to financial year and program  dates during exam. We have year 2017 now. Do they usually tell students to set program date that doesn't match with current ' real life' year ? Can I expect that financial year or program date will be related to 2016 or earlier ?

Hi Rafal
Not sure if in the exam they will given you an exact or not, might just say 20xx. Program date you can ignore - that is for if you need to key either a year/period end process (which you wont) or can be used if you have a lot to key on the same date so that you dont actually have to enter the date (just a shortcut and again you wont need this).

Year end date you may need to set - as long as you know how to do it. Do you?

thanks Joanne for reply. I know how to enter financial year. In every scenario I did so far I was expected to enter financial year and program date. I am confused when you say that I can ignore program date. I don't know what to do when they give me scenario that says program date 20XX

Didnt expect them to ask you that one about program date. Is it a case of enter the program date and take a screen shot to prove it - so essentially they are checking you know how to do it rather than expecting you to change it?

As long as you know how then thats the main thing.
