Hi all

Got fed up with my old user name making me sound like an old fuddy-duddy while everyone else has cool nicknames so I decided to have a change.

Sad though that all I could think of calling myself at 10.55 on a Sunday morning was alcohol related

Cheers

Hi Stella (thats really going to stick now, thanks Joanne, lol).

If you look at the profile (click your name) it gives you the posters joining date so in my case I've been here since Jan 2010 (sooo many posts ago).

Think that our longest standing active member is Amanda (you know, pic with the Tigger).

I'd go with Bubbles, as in Champagne, not the ape.

Going with the theme of my existing name would have to be Caribbean. Boring I know.

Or perhaps just 'espresso martin' as that is what I say when Im drunk as in 'another espresso martini as quickly as possible please'!

Johnny are you sure yours isnt after Bubbles from Little Britain?nowink

Lol. I've never watched LB, but having just Googled, I can confirm that that is I in my profile picture - slightly thinner than Bubbles LMAO.

Been here on and off since 2010, so seven years! The forums feel like they've changed a lot since when I first came here.

Hi Faye,

went through several periods of various bodies (some professional, some less so) attempting to compromise our independance. At times that got quite heated but hopefull now you're finding it more like the site that you first joined with professionals chatting to other professionals without anyone attempting to sell you anything.

Hi Joanne

I'm struggling to find the link between Cheshire and Caribbean.

But surely it would have to be Expresso Martine?

 hi John

it was just the place names thing, plus Cheshire is whee I am, but the Caribbean is where I want to be. Except when they have dodgy weather.

i like your other suggestion, so will stick with that one.biggrin Or maybe Rum Martine....half of one and part from the Caribbean suggestions.  wink

Absolutely.  One dayers and T20 mainly, although the back end of a test can get exciting sometimes.  Missed most of the IPL unfortunately as I can't spare the time, but I'm looking forward to the final on Sunday.

I cant stand cricket but Ive been in the members lounge and watched from the balcony at Old Trafford in a past life. Plus had lunch with a famous ex player - just cannot recall his name, cos Im rubbish with names and more into the goings on at the other Old Trafford. I was also the only female at a Sportsmans Lunch, sitting with a few of the then players, back in about 1994, but thats a whole other story!

 Hi Joanne

I think you really should tell the whole story (did it make the Sun front page?)

Hi John

I don't really follow club cricket but avid follower of England, I do like the shorter formats of the game but still prefer Test cricket.

I used to get to the Oval for the tests when living in London and keep meaning to get to the Swalec to watch some since moving up here, however there always seems something else to do

Got South Africa next week in some one dayers which should be good before the start of the ICC trophy

Hi Joanne

If you've ever had the pleasure of meeting David Lloyd (Lancashire's head coach at the time) he's an immensely funny man. I've only seen him on TV as a Sky Cricket commentator, but he cracks me up every time. I only started following cricket in 2004, so wouldn't know any of the cricketers from 10 years previous.

Hi Doug

Yes, I'm hoping to see the opening match next Wednesday if time permits, depends on how much work I can get done beforehand.
