Bloody HSBC!!!!   Not my Bank, but a clients.  Useless lot are doing upgrades DURING THE DAY!!!!!!!!!   What is that about?!!

Not only have they changed all their account numbers and sort codes for their business clients but havent bothered to send letters out to everyone with the account numbers on. Had the sterling ones, with no IBAN and BICS on them I hasten to add!!!  Plus I know I can get the sterling ones from the online banking but it is the currency ones I need to send a pile of invoices out, because believe it or not the rest of the world keeps turning even on a Saturday.  Now - I cannot send anything as I cannot get to the new currency accounts via the online process but nor, so they tell me can their staff!!!!!    Mind you -  I wouldnt want to be taking an account number, IBAN and BIC from some numpty on the phone as I could be given any old load of *** or someone else account details!!

Never mind that my client wants access to the massive amount of cash in one of his currency accounts and now cannot get it!!!!

Oh and if anyone uses the HSBC Business online process they will know that normally an annoying little box pops up on the screen if you dont type your login details/passwords in very quickly.  Supposedly a helpful member of staff - well surprise surprise this little box aint popping up anywhere today so I cannot even ask them which cretin decided to do an upgrade during a day, even though its weekend!

So you lot are getting my rant.  confusebiggrinbiggrin

Oh but never mind the next 'issue' - some supplier trying to retain withholding tax from my client - both are UK based, although my client is German*. Deep joys of dealing with tax.  Love it!wink

*edited to clarify -has uk residency status (and the other party knows it!)

Oh heck Joanne

My business account is with HSBC.  I've been away from the office all week so I'll not know til tomorrow if my account no has been changed, but it's the first I've heard about it.

Hi Joanne,

rather than the normal "Expelliarmus" spell that we use when handling HMRC, the spell that you need to use for this one, shouted very loudly down the phone is "Om-Buds-Man". Can on occassion have the effect of summoning managers seemingly from thin air even where the phone trolls that you initially speak to swear that non of their ilk are in the building.

Lol. As if you haven't already put the fear of God into them.

Big hugs.

Shaun.

Strictly speaking you shouldve had a warning letter in April then a further update sometime in June.  Well, I say that, I am assuming it relates to all business accounts as a few of mine have had them. Right nightmare when you go online to do transfers, if you have a load of accounts as I used to know which account was which from the last 3-4 digits, whereas now its a guessing game because they dont add anything to make it helpful!  Other than that and todays debarcle I find some of their processes ok and way way way better than some banks.

lol!   They escaped my wrath as they had kindly left a message on the phone systems telling you basically to bog off if you wanted anything currency related today!  At least Ive sorted the WHT situation out.  Much easier than I thought it was going to be in the end and helped by getting email responses on a Saturday.

Big hugs back!

Josmile
