I have an employer who only employs one person paid £520 a month. Do they still need to automatically enroll if the employee doesn't want to take part.
Many thanks for reading

Hi Nicola. If you check the salary at which you need to automatically enroll, then you'll get your answer.
Even if you don't have to automatically enrol the employee, they still need to be given the option to join, and this must be in writing at the staging date. What payroll software are you using? Moneysoft and Brightpay for definite will have a template letter that you can give to the employer to sign and pass on to the employer. A scheme doesn't need to be in place at this stage, but if the employee changes their mind,or a new employee starts and wants to join, then a scheme must be immediately put in place. There are also compliance duties you need to perform, regardless of whether the employee joins or not. Also you need to be aware that this has to be repeated every 3 years.
Its worth reading up on the tpr website , there are hefty fines if you get it wrong
