Hi guys.
Hope you dont mind me posting again, nearly 2 weeks into my new job enjoying it and learning some interesting stuff, its about a 30min commute long days as crammin 5 days hours into 4 working days. However I have a new quandry, got an interview for dwp at the job centre as a work coach do I consider the role. Potentially closer to home, 6k a year more money, but in no way related to my prefered field of accounts and will have no relevance to my aat. Thoughts please?
30minute commute - is that all! Takes me over an hour some mornings to get to the motorway which is less than 2 miles away - and that is just the start of my journey. I did 2 hours either end of the day in my last role and it wasnt a 9-5 role.
Work coach at a job centre - mostly you will be ignored at best! Cant think of anything more demoralising.
May pay more now but what is the potential end game there versus the potential end game to what you had planned. You dont get to be a £50k+ earner by going the easy route and there is such a thing as a bad move on a CV.
Plus points - cant think of any. Oh yeah, you might end up with a teeny bit more time in bed.
Always aim high in the long run.
Thats just me though!

Thanks Joanne. I was leaning that way but needed a good shove. Guess I dont want ppl thinking I bottled the interview or saying I was stupid for passing up extra money. I will learn more at my current role and still have a scheduled interview at the accountancy practice in January.
No, no, no, stick to accounts, far less stressful.
In a previous life I managed a training initiative in which the DWP sent over long term unemployed for warehouse training. Heard every excuse under the sun as to why finding work afterwards would be a no go.
