Introducing myself to the forum. I'm Nick. Just started working in Bookkeeping and Accounts in August 2017 so it's all still a bit new to me. I've decided to commit to bookkeeping and accounting as a life-long endeavour. I don't think you'd ever stop learning so I'm not looking for short-cuts or quick fixes. Just hard work, enthusiasm and passion. And attain AAT and then ACCA as a long-term goal.
I'm in my 30s so it is a different path to take but I'm really enjoying it so far.
MY wife has inspired me as she has studied ACCA and been down the same path as me. But she's much further ahead and in a higher level job than mine.
I've already read through a large chunk of the forum. That helped me to decide to do self-study towards AAT 2 first by purchasing all the Tutorial and Workbooks and then practice on Sage One online and Xero at my work. Also, found about ACCA-X through the forum and the free software and other resources to help.
Given the forum has such a wealth of knowledge and experience I'd like to say thanks for reading my introduction and thank YOU for contributing to the forum!
It really does offer great advice and support with those difficult questions.
Hi Nick,
I am like you, wanted a new career path not at 20 lol, something that you will never stop learning in and only gets better.
People are great in this forum.
How are you finding it all so far
