Aat lvl 3 studies.

Hi guys, Started studying level 3 at end of August and for a few weeks junped straight in studying every night, got to chapter 9 of 14 (I think) on advanced bookkeeping transactions.

Then I had lots of stuff going on vest man at a wedding, my own wedding, losing my job, interviewing for other jobs etc. I am now opening my study books again however, the thought of rereading all the same stuff for AVBK is demotivating me to study.

So should I start fresh module (thinking indirect tax) and come back to AVBK or try and plough through. Thanks.

Hi Lee,

I would persevere and complete what you started.

Done similar thing myself although completely different subject area (MA History). Took an unexpected break from studies due to family/work issues, decided to start on a new module as like you the thought of ploughing through it all again was not appealing, only to start the next module with the nagging thought in my head that something needed to be finished !!!

I went back and completed with a clear head to then start the next.

Self study is great to fit around family and work but you do have to be even more disciplined and organised with your time.

Julie

HI Lee,

I've been in your shoes before - took a break from a module and thought I'd come back to it later. Believe me, the longer you leave it, the more you will dread it. I think carry on from where you left off (you'll be surprised how much you remember) then complete a couple of mocks to find out where your weaknesses are.

Take it from somebody who delayed a really easy module for nearly a year and hated every second of restarting the module because after a year, it had all gone!

Congrats on the marriage!

Why would you need to re-read everything?  Is that because you had so much going on that you werent actually taking it in in the first instance or indeed because you didnt like the subject matter?

Depending on what training provider you are using (I cant recall) you should have a pile of questions to practice on, so just do the questions. Soon gets you back into the way of thinking required for the subject and if you get a pile right you dont need to do the course matter again, especially if you highlight as you go any real key bits, or do flash type card info.  Highlights your weaknesses as Daniel says.

I agree with Julie - its will just be pecking at your brain anyway.
