Hello
Can anyone help me with P11D info for a self assessment? The employee hasn't been given a P11d the company have said they aren't issuing them anymore "that they are on the pay slip" I've got the pay slips with a payment of healthcare and a deduction payment in kind. What do I do with it for self assessment purposes?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Midge
Hi, is the employee your client & in what capacity? eg what is your background. I work in payroll/accounts for a ltd ompany so have that view point and experience, many other posters are book keepers and accountants but they usually ask for some background for new posters so they can gauge the level of reponse.
My question is, is the employer reporting and paying tax on all benefits through the payroll in which case they do not have to issue a P11D?
I've been asked the question by a friend for them to complete a self assessment. In the past normally had a p11d for healthcare benefits but now it's on the pay slip so I'm guessing it doesn't have to be included in the self assessment?
This is a forum for professional bookkeepers and Accountants to help each other, not to provide free advice to people. Your friend should get an Accountant or read up on such issues on the HMRC website.

Apologies Joanne,
I thought it was all bookkeepers from beginners to professionals. I'm just starting out with bookkeeping and was looking for advice - all new members have to start somewhere. Apologies if I'm in the wrong forum.
Hi?? Julie did ask for an intro, which we ask for from all newbies
Probably best to start again
So usual stuff we need - what prof body do you belong to, do you work for yourself or in a practice/ firm, are you a bookkeeper or accountant, what qualifications, how long in role, where up to in your studies-what exams passed/with what body/in midst of doing, where based, what you did before this role? That sort of thing. Helps get to know you but also how best to pitch answers.
Do you have MLR? Or PII?
Have you done ethics as a subject yet? This covers why you shouldnt work with family members/friends.
Can you add your first name so that it appears under the signature bar on your posts? Saves everyone looking it up each time!! (Edit profile --->signatures)

I'm with AAT and a member in practice for bookkeeping and don't really get involved in Self assessments very much. I work full time in a education finance background and before that with the NHS for 13 years again in Finance. I'm part Cima qualified but don't want to continue with my studies due to work life balance. I'm based in the North East of England.
Yes to both MLR and PII.
If it's on the payslip as a deduction then no need to report on self assessment. Payroll reporting was introduced as an alternative to P11D a couple of years ago.
