Is anyone familiar with Iris Exchequer. I have just started with a new company and struggling on how
to deal with the difference in currency. i.e supplier invoice in dollars, pay in dollars comes out of bank account in sterling minus bank charges. Want to make sure bank account reconciles and clear customer ledger. Need to deal with the difference exchange rate on Exchequer, current exchange rate, bank charges.
Hi Diane
So hows about an intro before we start. We always ask newbies! Prof background and all that
Usual stuff - what prof body do you belong to, do you work for yourself or in a practice/ firm, are you a bookkeeper or accountant, what qualifications, how long in role, where up to in your studies-what exams passed/with what body/in midst of doing, where based, what you did before this role? That sort of thing. Helps get to know you but also how best to pitch answers.
I dont think its a software specific question necessarily.

Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.
You should check out answers with reference to the legal position
Hi All
I am an Accounts Administrator where I do the book-keeping along with the the other office duties. I have no formal qualifications, I am self taught through working with Accountants. I have always been an Administrator but seem to have always ended up doing the Accounts. My previous role was very similar but using Sage. I have no experience working with different currencies so am struggling a bit on this side.
That's how I started Diane. Was doing admin for a motocross shop and was one day given a copy of Sage and left to get on with it. Took to it like a duck to water.
Welcome to the forum.
