Hi Rob
Can you expand on your intro. I can see youve trawled some of the site so you wont be surprised by the request for extra stuff.

Usual stuff we ask for - what prof body do you belong to, do you work for yourself in this practice you mention, or employed by someone else? Are you a bookkeeper or accountant, what qualifications, how long in role, where up to in your studies-what exams passed/with what body/in midst of doing, where based, what you did before this role? You mentioned manufacturing in another post - what specifially did you do in that sector? If you are an employee working in a practice what prof body does the practice work under? How many staff at differing levels? That sort of thing.

Helps get to know you but more important how best to pitch answers. Dont want to talk up, nor indeed down to you, so this info helps.

Hi Joanne,

i belong to the AAT im currently working away at my membership pack so will hopefully soon be at the dizzy heights of MAAT - something which has taken me a while but working around a family thats how it had to be! cant wait to get there now though :) :)

I work in small practice, its not mine we are under ICAEW and the senior partner is fantastic at what he does... I have strong experience in manufacturing for a food production company where i held position as an assistant accountant, i decided to move sideways into practice as i wanted the experience of putting accounts together and i love it. With it though comes different ways of bookkeeping and some of the processes im unfamiliar with so in a nutshell i hope i can share some experience here as well as take some advice.

It will be good to get to know some of you and hopefully i can be a regular poster!!

So - where exactly are you up to?  Literally just starting applying?   What level are you doing?

Good luck with your final one then Rob, whenever that is.

Are you going for your MAAT licence so you can set up on your own? if not your membership will just continue as now (except will cost you more!)

Be good to have another regular poster on here, so welcome to the madhouse.
