HI All I'm New to the Forum, I recently started working at a firm and I'm getting my head around the CIS processing, Some Suppliers and exempt or zero rated from the scheme. My processor put everything as T9 in sage for CIS Suppliers but some of these are exempt which sage code should be t2 or in some cases T0 of some supplies are zero rated please advise (cash accounting) I was only aware of MOT/wages /journals/ tolls that this should be t0 not t9?
How's about an intro before we start- we always ask newbies. Usual stuff - what prof body do you belong to, do you work for yourself or in a practice/ firm, are you a bookkeeper or accountant, what qualifications, how long in role, where up to in your studies-what exams passed/with what body/in midst of doing, where based, what you did before this role? That sort of thing. Helps get to know you but also how best to pitch answers.
You may want to read through your post and clarify a few things as I am not sure what you are actually asking

I get the feeling this was a VAT code query. Worryingly T appears to be going off what has been done before rather than using knowledge of whether the VAT is payable or reclaimable in line with the VAT act.
Would CIS ever be Exempt?
Tolls do carry VAT.
Some MOTS carry VAT as well.
Be good to know more about background and specific Q wouldnt it Doug.
