Taxfiler Price Increase

Not sure if any of you are aware, but TF have increased their prices for new customers from 1st May.

New prices are £10 + VAT for up to 10 clients

£20 + VAT for up to 30 clients

£30 + VAT for unlimited clients per user.   (or £250 + VAT if you pay annually)

Now here's the sweetener, it will include the new practice manager software I mentioned which I saw at Accountex, except on the £10 a month plan.

Existing users will be contacted and put on the most appropriate plan.

Thanks John,

Yes I did see it on Aweb the other day, not had any notification of this myself yet but I am sure it will be coming, I think we all new this would happen after the take over and to be honest I only pay £10+VAT monthly at the moment which I do believe is great value for what they offer.

Trouble with have something so cheap that now I am going to have to pay 3 times as much which is quite a rise as I would need to go for the £30 unlimited but will probably choose to pay annually as that is quite a saving, pretty sure what my clients would say if I told them that I am raising my prices by 3 times what they pay now no

Cheers

I was thinking the same Doug. Like you I pay £10 + VAT a month but it will go up to £30, although I've just hit the 50 limit so would have gone up to £15 anyway.

I'll just have to pretend I'm paying £15 for TF and £15 for the Practice Manager biggrin which I had been contemplating getting anyway.

Has anyone had any confirmation about these increases from Taxfiler yet?

I had a look at their website and it includes the price increases but I have not received any notification from Taxfiler as of yet.

Not yet Doug, they're supposed to be contacting all users and putting them on the most appropriate plan.

Cheers John, just wondered when this was going to happen as I was going to go for the annual fee, but even better if they forget and leave me on £10 a month for up to 50 biggrin

I've had an email today to say that my Taxfiler subscription is going up from 1st July.  That's the bad news but there's some good news as well.

If you have more than 30 clients but less than 50 they won't switch you to the new pro account until you hit 50, so you'll only pay £20 a month instead of £30

Unfortunately I'm now on 51. although 8 of them are historic plus 2 dummy accounts.

I think it's still value though because you'll also get MTD for VAT, further bookkeeping integrations (VT would be nice) Openspace integration and a practice management platform, the latter I am eagerly awaiting.

 Hi John

I got the same email, at the moment I only have 32 and a couple more to add so very happy that they are letting me have the SOLO price plan which is usually up to 30 clients until I hit 50 which in all honesty will probably not be for a good few years (no interest in expanding), though their fees are doubling I still feel it is great value for money even if I had to pay the £30 monthly.

BUT and a very big but is this just the start of things to come and can we expect these kind of price increases every year, in which case I will be looking at other options.

I don't think they will double every year Doug (at least I hope not) but certainly we will see a hike every year because that's what Iris do. Expect between 10% - 15% a year based on previous Iris increases on other software.

Ive not got round to reading this yet. Still catching up from being away for so long.

I think a move is in order, problem is - where to?!!

This business used to be one you could get into with minimal cost, now the software costs alone are getting totally ridiculous.
