This is my first post and i need some help and guidance.
Unfortunately i didn't have the ability to study a College or University Degree. I am 33 years old and i have a newborn baby. I am working as an AML officer for the last couple of years for a respectful company but financially im struggling. I was searching online for qualifications that my help me with an additional income or even change career. I need to clarify that i dont have previous experience or qualifications in Accounting. I found AAT and after i spoke with their representative in my country he told me that if i study hard enough i can give AAT Advanced Bookkeeping Certification (lvl 3) exams. Due to financial issues ill need to do self study.
My questions is,if this is possible (Self Study).
Also if you have anything to suggest you are more that welcome.
Hi
Sorry but you are asking in the wrong place - this is a forum in the UK.
Personal bug bear of mine - uou dont get asked in a job interview if you have children (or dont/shouldnt in the UK) so it has little/no relevance. If you are determined you can do whatever you want.
Questions to ask.
Whilst AAT is clearly pushing thing in Cyprus and is good knowledge to gain, is it actually recognised by the relevant accounting and bookkeeping bodies on the island? You need to ask the Accountancy body itself and then also do some digging round local firms.
If recognised you need to find out what level 3 will get you in terms of a job - is that sifficient or do you need level 4?
Can you get a training contract with a firm?
What is the market like? UK has far too many people chasing after far too many roles? So if you are going to go for it - aim for the top where there is a real need (Chartered Accountancy).
How will you gain experience?
What is your long term goal? S/e or working in a practice?

Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.
You should check out answers with reference to the legal position
Don't need to be worried. If you have clear focus to learn accountancy training for AAT or other certifications
Sorry, embedded links are only permitted for established members of the community.
I have reviewed your company and you have not been banned so please feel free to assist people on here for free without any advertising of your own company or services.
As with marketing events and business clubs, the last thing that you should ever do is try to push your business but rather let business find you once they know and trust you.
Be warned though when helping people on here that there are a fair few fully qualified chartered and chartered certified accountants on here so we will know if you are bluffing and bullshitting.
Good luck,
Shaun.
