Barclays online access for 3rd party

hi

Anyone know how to get read only access to online banking for balances and entries and downloading bank statements?

Barclays numpties cannot seem to answer the question. Might be because its a Sunday and all their brains are still in Saturday nights beer!   Or just because it's 'service' staff are offshore!

I hope I have understood your question correctly.

We have access to most of our clients Bank Accounts as Read Only which also allows downloading statements etc.

Depends on which bank but as far as I can recall it was simply our clients approached the bank and received a form to permit this, which we both signed.

We then received correspondence from the Bank with log on details that identify that it is us when we log on.

Hi Jay
Yes you have understood correctly and thanks for the info.

I was trying to get specifics on how to do this for Barclays as some of my clients need more hand holding than others to get things done. Some banks you need to go on a Bank mandate, some just on the online banking forms and it was more a case of what form and do they need to speak to the online helpdesk or can they forms via online chat or can any old branch/business phone line answer the query. I know the process for a fair few banks, just not Barclays.

Thanks again

Thanks Jay. Crikey bomb-it they make it simple, not. An hour long 'interview' process!

Think I will leave 'em to it. There isnt even a Barclays locally any more and Im a hermit!

Thanks again for having a search for me.

Hi Joanne

Looking at that link, it's for giving permission for someone else to operate the account, including making payments.  I think what you're looking for is admin access only?  Had a scout around but couldn't find any further info.

Hi John
Thats the confusion - at their end as well its seems. If you click on the link it takes you through to another which does mention access via online and telephone.

I will see if we can call Barclays when Im sitting with the client. If at first you get a dumb answer, ring back and try another call handler!

Thanks
