A new client has told me he took on an apprentice a few months back, from what I have gathered he has not given him a contract of employment, not sure if this is an approved scheme as I am still waiting for him to get back to me with further information.
Is this a legal requirement for an apprentice/any employee?
Cheers

For Apprentices - more care is needed re non fixed term contracts and the like. I would suggest you recommend the client try ACAS if the Apprenticeship providers cannot help (usually hopeless in my experience) and/or a HR specialist. I can recommend Peninsula.

Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.
You should check out answers with reference to the legal position
Cheers for the heads up.... Now, do I clear up any inadvertant misunderstand and tidy away your post now calling Doug a Moron...
The grown up accountant in me says yes... The four year old miscreant still living in my head says yes... but no need hurry, lol. (bet you spoil it now by deleting it yourself!... Well, made me laugh for a while )
No I can't, not to Doug. I'll get rid of it as soon as you've seen how funny it looks.
Laters,
Shaun.
