VT Final accounts

Hi all

I wanted to get VT final accounts, at the moment I have VT+ but just on the one off payment not the subscription, can I just download the final accounts or do I need to download the whole package, I don't want to delete all my current clients and records which I was worried would happen if I run the new program of final accounts and VT+, has anyone added this with no problems to their existing data?

Cheers

Hi Doug
Gawd its a while since I did this, but certainly cannot recall an issue with any of it, you wont lose what you have. There is a guidance file when you pay for it if I recall, but the team at VT are very helpful. Make sure you have backups of all your files (IM sure that goes without saying) - I usually keep them via dropbox.

Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.

You should check out answers with reference to the legal position

Hi Doug
I have final accounts which I purchased after having VT transaction for many years. There was no problem at all. The final accounts is installed as an add in tab on excel. Like Joanne says the VT support team are really helpful if needed.

Hi Doug,

all of your clients are kept as .vtr files. I assume that you back those up regularly. Even if VT lost where they were (it doesn't but always look at worst case scenarios) it would just need you to open the .vtr file to reestablish it. Downloading / redownloading VT+ does not delete any data on your machine. But still, always backup those .vtr files.

As Valerie says, VT accounts is not like VT+ in that it is an Excel Add On and can take a little while to get used to how it works.

The mistake that I still make is having the client open in VT+ whilst attempting to import the data into VT Accounts (Doh!).

How I learnt VT Accounts was to take a set of accounts produced in Iris then keep producing the accounts in VT until they were pretty much the same (there are some small differences in presentation).

HTH,

Shaun.

Hi Doug

I'm planning on getting it as well.  Still using the version of VT+ I paid for 3 years ago (Tight b*gger me) but upgrading soon.

One word of advice though. You'll need Microsoft Excel 32 bit version.  As far as I'm aware the 64 bit version doesn't work on it, unless VT have updated it since.
