Good morning, I have AAT level 3 gained few years ago and now I'd like to pursue a career in accountancy. I'm planning my path for the next few years. I'd like to be able to work from home providing services to self-employed and small limited companies. Can you please tell me what qualifications do I need to gain to be able to submit their year end reports to HMRC and companies house (for ltd companies), VAT reports, self-assessments? Would AAT level 4 be sufficient? thank you
level3 is bookkeeper level. level4 is accountant level. You would need practice licence from AAT as well. Contact them they have information to help.Market is at over saturation level though.Lots of Accountants being made redundant from industry trying to set up on own.
You dont need any qualifications though to set up as accountant, poor public.
thank you. I've seen some bookkeepers submitting corporation tax, VAT etc holding only AAT level 3, some of them cooperate with chartered accountants who would only sign off the reports, some of them didn't even bother to get this done. Thank you again
Level 3 doesnt mean you can practice. You need level 3 PLUS a licence. VAT is part of level3 licence IF you have experience. CT is not. Report them. They are breaking the terms of their licences and bringing the profession into disrepute.
thank you. That's why I wanted to find out what I need to gain to be able to practise and how to plan my studies and career to be able to do what I want to do. Thank you for your help
