I dont use Sage but is there not a code for Repairs & Renewals? it may also depend on what the keys are used for to determine which category the expense should go in

Depends what business you are in. In if the business of key cutting, its income code. Does it need to be separately reported. Dont assume everyone knows what a n/c is, be more explicit. Stop thinking just mind numbing keying to a code and think more carefully about what you are trying to do/why you are doing it/what you need to report and why. Then you can think about how you phrase your questions. Although by then you should also be able to work it out yourself in this instance.
