For those of you that are looking to learn Microsoft Excel, I ran a survey of 100 people working as bookkeepers, finance assistants and accountants asking them how they learnt the software. It turns out that although you need tutorials of some description, using the software regularly is the key to progressing in Excel and starting early will make your life so much easier when you go to get a job in bookkeeping or start your own firm. Therefore, to get ahead, you should get a copy of Excel and begin building trial balances and P&Ls from the moment you start a course. Not only will this teach you a lot about Excel, it will cement your knowledge of what you are studying. You can see my full survey and report in the below blog post:

For anyone wishing to learn Excel I would advise studying the courses of Leila gharani on Udemy who is a microsoft LVP and teaches my sort of level Excel very well (VBA, Power Query, User forms, events, automation, dynamic dashboards, etc.).
If you have any specific questions about how to do anything in Excel Tom then this site is a good place to ask as we have quite a few very advanced Excel developers here.
