I have been using Sage 50, in its various versions, for a very long time. I am now semi-retired, and have only two clients. For one of my clients, the bookkeeping is shared between one of the owners and me. The owner would like to stop doing the bookkeeping altogether, and has been approached by a bookkeeping/accountancy firm who have proposed to take on all their bookkeeping, and automate the processes as much as possible, possibly using Quickbooks. They have asked me to quote for doing the same.
I am reluctant to migrate their Sage 50 system to Quickbooks. I had a chat with Sage and had a look at their Cloud Accounting package, which seems to offer a similar functionallity to Quickbooks and would enable various forms of automation such as bank linking and supplier invoice capture.
I would be very grateful to hear from someone who has gone through this process. Is Sage Accounting similar to Sage 50 or does it have a completely different interface? Does automation save a lot of time?
