Ecommerce Clients- difficulties?
Permalink Closed

We mostly go after ecommerce clients but software is rich but never bookkeeper/accountant focused.

We have been using Link My Books for some of our ecommerce clients. Its good when it automatically posts the monthly sales but when we want to create a VAT report or prior year accounts it can be a real struggle to reconcile or look at historical data. Has anyone else had the same type of problems with Link My Books or do any of you use other software for Amazon sellers which is actually accountant/bookkeeper focused?

We are scoping out alternatives to use for our practice and considering making our own tool.

Looking at Link my books it appears to be an integration tool to extract data into QB or Xero.  Surely your VAT reports/historical imports will be handled by one of those?

Depending on which version of LMB you're on, historical data is either 3,12 or 24 months.  Don't think it's intended as a accountancy focused.

Have you looked at A2X?  It's a bit more pricey but looks more geared to maybe what you want.

I've not had experience of either so caveat emptor

Youve already stated you are developing your own on another post. Seems like just an ad.

I totally understand your struggles with eCommerce clients and the lack of bookkeeper/accountant-focused software available. I have had similar issues with Link My Books and have been on the lookout for alternatives as well. One tool that we have found to be useful is https://transformagency.com/. It's specifically designed for Amazon sellers and includes features like automated sales posting and the ability to easily reconcile historical data for VAT reports and prior-year accounts. They also offer a free trial to test it out. Give it a look and let us know what you think!

However, with the right strategies in place, Ecommerce can offer incredible opportunities for growth and success. Don't be discouraged - stay focused and persistent.
