We have a new customer based in Australia, and has instructed us to print and deliver some literature to a UK address, am I right in thinking that I would need to charge VAT as everything has taken place in the UK and nothing will leave the UK? I can't seem to find this particular case on HMRC's website....
I agree that if the goods are not leaving the UK then UK VAT should be charged at the correct rate, but have you checked to see if the literature you are supplying is standard rated and not zero-rated.
