it is with great regret that I have decided that its time to close the doors and switch the lights off of my practice. My clients are some of the worlds largest companies who use big four firms for their accountancy needs and my role is always in analysis of data or developing their financial systems. Its not in completing their accounts and tax returns, so really I don't need the quite sizeable overheads of running an ACCA practice.
If I am no longer concentrating on financial accountancy (For the last five years pretty much everything has been on the management accountancy/data analysis/consultancy side of the fence) then really my time here is done. I'll continue gaurding the site until Steve finds a replacement but my time posting is at an end.
Its been a funny old journey. Arrived here thirteen years ago. I was still an ACCA student then. The help and support I got from the site, especially from my good friend Steve who owns the site has been priceless. I got all of my practical experience for both membership and a practicing certificate. For the last few years I've been an FCCA and also gained a masters in Accountancy. I don't regret a thing as the ACCA (and UCL) opens doors that I could not have opened without them on my CV.
I've made good freinds here most of whom I have now lost track of. I'll always treasure the memories of the time of the three Amigo's where Rob, Bill and myself had some truly great technical debates. The great times taking Spam Kebab from someone who knew nothing about bookkeeping to an AAT trainer. I know that I've helped so many take their first steps in this world, and stopped a few making bad decisions, and many more making expensive mistakes. But as I am no longer practicing now is time to step down.
Its been great but now, it's goodnight from him....
Bye people.
Shaun. FCCA MSc.

Thank you for all your help, support and assistance over the past 12 years (how time flies!). It has been my absolute pleasure (and privilege) to work with you over this period, and I wish you all the very best in your future endeavours.
If you're ever in Somerset, you are always welcome to pop into the office for a coffee!
All the best Shaun, sorry to see you go. I've thoroughly enjoyed conversing with you over the last 7 or 8 years I've been here, whether it's being daft over security vans and cakes, or some serious debate (all too lacking nowadays)
