Does anyone here use Dext? I'm currently manually inputting invoices into Xero but keen to speed the process up. Dext looks interesting but any feedback or alternatives would be great? Thanks
I use Dext and its great. A big time saver compared to manually processing docs. if you use Xero the link between the two is very good.
Although I've been told there's a price increase coming soon, so depending on the increase, may look at alternatives - got a call with my Dext account manager next week. Shame as Dext works well and clients find it user friendly in the main.
Getting a bit fed up of Dext prices increase here too. Got a demo booked with Dokka tomorrow. Feedback looks positive from other socials. Only other option I can see is Autoentry.
Dext's key feature is its ability to extract relevant information from documents and then integrate it seamlessly into your accounting software. It saves time and reduces the risk of manual data entry errors. Dext is also known for its good integration with Xero, making it a popular choice for those who use this accounting platform.
However, like any tool, it has its pros and cons. One of the concerns that some bookkeepers have raised is the cost, especially if you're handling a high volume of invoices. It's essential to consider whether the subscription cost aligns with the benefits you gain in terms of time and accuracy.
In terms of alternatives, you might want to explore Receipt Stash, AutoEntry, or Hubdoc, which offer similar features and integrate with Xero as well. These alternatives also have their own pricing structures and unique features, so you can choose the one that best fits your specific needs and budget.
In the realm of statistics, a study by Xero found that businesses using digital receipt and invoice automation tools save an average of 8 hours per month on data entry. This statistic underscores the time-saving potential of such tools and supports the idea of adopting them for your bookkeeping practice.
Dext is a powerful tool that can significantly expedite the invoice entry process and reduce errors, making it a valuable asset for bookkeepers. However, cost considerations and the specific needs of your practice should guide your decision. Exploring alternatives like Receipt Stash, AutoEntry, or Hubdoc is also a prudent approach. Ultimately, choosing the right tool can help you save time and enhance the accuracy of your bookkeeping tasks. I personally have had good experiences with it.
