Hi, new user here. I've been using TAS for 30 years now having started with the old DOS version. I run a small accountancy practice with about 30 small clients (none of which are capable of operating their own software) who turn up once a year (or maybe four times if they are VAT registered) with the ubiquitous Tesco carrier bag of bank stements and receipts. I have been able to get around Sage's plans to get rid of TAS so far by filing the VAT returns via Infoplex bridging software.
In an effort to plan for MTD for ITSA I am reviewing my options. Xero was immediately discarded as it takes far too long to input the information and it bears no relation whatsoever to the type of software I am used to having been a user of Sage and TAS all my working life. Sage's online platform is similar however I am put off by the price and the need to innitially bear the cost myself and reinvoice my clients.
Are there any other options out there that resembles TAS or old school Sage Line 50 that are relatively cheap for a small one man band to operate or even bridging software that can enable me to continue to use TAS and is MTD for ITSA compatible?
