I changed everyones tax codes at year end and the individual p9's that HMRC issue I applied too. One of the tax codes that I was given on the p9 has now suddenly changed from 747L to 66L. I've just tried to contact HMRC but they are busy. Does anyone know why this has happened.

I feel this is a very silly question and it should be obvious, but ... If you have a CIS subcontractor who is paid gross, should they still receive a tax certificate to show that, as expected, no tax was deducted for their labour invoices in that month? I feel my cheeks glowing already! Andrew
