Is Spring a good time to start a book-keeping service?
Permalink Closed

Hi,

I've just found this forum, hope someone can help?

I'd like to find out whether March (Spring time) is a good time to start marketing a new book-keeping business?
 Thanks,

Jenny

Hi Jenny, welcome to The Book-keepers Forum!

Spring is a perfect time to start marketing. Many small businesses just went through the January tax return period, and many will want to get their book-keeping in order to avoid making the same mistake next year i.e. leaving it until the last minute to do their books! If they get their books in order now, when the books go to their accountant they should see a reduction in their accountancy fee.

Cheers Guy.

Totally agree and you should explot that point.  You could market that point saying its not too early to be sure youi do not make the same mistakes on next yeasr's returns.

In the U.S., it's a great time to start a book-keeping business, since taxes are due on April 15 and a lot of book-keepers are busy with their old clients and aren't taking on anyone new.

Hi, just want to say I've been advertising for just under two weeks and I've already obtained three new clients. Spring does seem to be a good time to start!!
