The biggest problem for bookkeepers ( sole traders in particular), is the cost of software for setting up multiple businesses. A couple of years ago I purchased a copy of Visual Accounts VA2000-32 from www.visualaccounts.co.uk but never really used it for purpose. Now I am setting it up to do some friends books which I am at present doing manually. I think this software could be for those of use who dont like difficult to use and very expensive software. A copy of the software costs a little over £50 and there is no limit to the number of Business Accounts you can set up; that could save you a small fortune on a multi company licence.

Support from a lot of software companies is very hit and miss, but I sent an e-mail requesting advice this morning and I received a reply within the hour!

The fully functional business edition can be downloaded and tried for 45 days..plenty of time to try it out for free. I think a lot of the big software companies dont let you have free trial because if you did try it..you wouldn't buy it!

I think I should have added that I in no way receive anything in the way of money/favour etc for the placement of this review. I did it because I genuinely think it is a very good, inexpensive piece of software.
