Reclaiming VAT on bad debts
Permalink Closed

Hi all

One of my clients has just sold his business. He has de-registered for VAT, but he still has a few invoices that have not been paid. My client paid the VAT on them and wants to know if he reclaim the VAT even though he is no longer registered?

Would welcome some advice!

Thanks

Tom

Hi Tom

Yes your client can do this using form VAT427. You can download this form from www.hmrc.gov.uk.

All the best
