Charging for installing softare for a client
Permalink Closed

Hi,
One of my friends who is in business prepares her own books but has asked for my help in creating a spreadsheet to help her.  She can't afford to outsource her bookkeeping as yet so I was going to install the bookcert software on her computer to enable her to continue doing her own books.  Would you charge even though she is a friend and how much? I thought about charging an hours work (£20)?

Any help would be appreciated,

Jo

Hi

I know some people will disagree, but I make it a rule to always charge for my services, including work for family and friends. I would say £20 seems fair, as external companies would probably charge a lot more!
