I am about to enrol on an AAT Payroll long distance course with Premier Training. I did my AAT Intermediate through a local college Long distance learning, but unfortunately they are only doing Payroll as evening classes which I can't make, hence the route of an alternative provider.
My question is has anyone had any experience of Premier Training, they seem very good on the Telephone and very helpfull, and seem to know there stuff and their prices are fine too.
Just want to make sure before I send off my cheque!
i did the IAB through ICS distance learning but this didn't cover payroll. I wanted to do it at college but unfortunately my local one didn't offer any payroll courses. I signed up with Premier Training to do the AAT payroll qualification and was very pleased with the quality of the material. It's a good course and you should be fine with them.
Many thanks for the info, I will be filling out my enrolment form. Out of interest did you do both levels, determine net pay and also end of year pay and if so how long did it take you to do it? I think they are level 2 & 3 from memory.
a colleague of mine "cheeted" the system slightly which turned out to be a much cheaper option but gave her the same end result
she bought a copy of the BPP study texts and assessment kits (about £40 each level from Waterstones Bookshop) which is what Premier Training use as part of there course materials, and then sat her skills tests and exams at the local BPP centre, which you would have to pay for separately anyway (and the £32 that PT charge was about the same as BPP) this way she never actually needed to register with an assessment centre and pay the course fees
so it might be an alternative if you have the motivation to learn the stuff from the materials - she also found the HMR&C employer's CD-rom really helpfull wich is available free from the revenue, you just need to phone the employer helpline and let them know that you are a student they'll happily send you a copy
