ICB Level 1 Certificate in basic Bookkeeping
Permalink Closed

Hi
I have Pitman examination in Computerised Accounts Level 1 & 2 taken 8 years ago. However I am thinking about joining the ICB and apparently need to take Level 1 basic bookkeeping followed by Level 11 Computerised Bookkeeping.  How is best to practise in taking these exams?  Is there a training course to go on or refresher course as I have not done manual bookkeeping for many years.  I am experienced in many computerised accounts packages but apparently still need to sit the Institute exams to become a member.

Do you mean you won't be doing the courses Zoe, just the exams?

Hi
Well I was hoping to just do just the exams as I'm assuming it would be similar to what I do on a day to day basis.  However maybe I need to do some training to pass these exams?

Morning Zoe,

You could just buy a few past papers to see what is involved in the exam, that`s what I did.  Also buy a copy of `Practical Bookkeeping`  for around £27.00 which covers manual levels 1 & 2, all of which you will find on the ICB website.  However there are a few errors in the book but there are similar ones on the market such as Kaplan and Osbourne I think.

Julie
