Unfortunately I've suffered from a couple of big bad debts in the past and had to use the service of a debt collection agency. I used a company called UK Debt Collection who proved successful.

I now collect my fees using standing order and found bad payers have decreased substantially. I know some book-keepers and accountants are collecting their fees by direct debits which is something I'm looking into myself.
