Just wondered if anyone can recommend a book or two to get me started on some small company book-keeping, decided to do it myself (or at least try!)? I spied this book on a book search but not sure if it will be any good - anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks very much!

Check out Frank Woods Business Accounitng Book. I used this book whilst training and it covered all the basic's, and I know it's popular amongst students.
There are loads out there, but a particular favourite of mine is ICB Practical Bookkeeping £27 or there abouts, Kaplan also do the same and Osbourne Books, have a look at amazon.
Hi, If you wish to learn basic bookkeeping for your own business then the book you mention,I think is fine and is not expensive. However, if you wish to obtain qualifications then I would recommend Business Accounts 3rd edition, you could purchase one for around £18 from Amazon. This book covers basic bookkeeping through to advanced and would cover most of the syllabus materials for the main examination boards such as OCR, GCSE, IAB and ICB. There is also a very good related website www.osbornebooks.co.uk. It is very good for self study if you don't want to spend hundreds of pounds on courses
