I have seen these courses on the ICB website and am interested in doing them. I've emailled the ICB but had no reply but what I want to know someone who is doing them will probably know.
Basically how do you study them? I have doe the bookkeeping level 1 & 2 and I self studied them as I have done Foundation and Intermediate AAT. Is it possible to do the same with the payroll and self assessment, ie buy a book and sit the exams or do you need to go through a learning provider?
I have done the ICB exams manual level 1 and 2, computerised level 2 and 3, payroll level 3 without having a learning provider. I bought Business Accounts by David Cox recommended at an ICB revision course that ICB run the other year.
The only one I have paid for a course with a learning provider is level 3 computerised.
With the self assessment I thought they no longer did this, maybe best ringing the ICB.
I am currently doing the payroll diploma through the home learning college. Although I have been doing payroll for over 20 years I need the qualification for my practising cert and decided to do the course to brush up on those areas that you dont come across very often.
Level 3 Payroll was easier then I expected. I did not bother really studying for it. Bought the past paper just to glance through really to see what was needed and then just paid for the actual exam.
