I've just 'gained' my first client who runs a photography business. His accountant has recommended Sage Instant Accounts which he has now purchased and is using mainly for invoices to customers. Do I need to get this software aswell to work with, and if I do, can I use it for other clients I may get in the future aswell, or is it a one business only package?
Also, he has version 14 - do I need that or can I get version 15?
Hi Cath Sage Instant Accounts is as single user, single company licence product. If you feel that you are going to use Sage for a more of your clients then it may be worthwhile considering the Sage Bookkeepers Club, which I think starts at £425 + VAT for up to 5 company licences. The other problem you may have and I may be incorrect on this, if you have version 15 and you take the photographers version 14 you will be able to read it and make adjustments but when you take this back to the photographers v14 he may not be able to read it because you can convert up to v15 but not back down again. Hope this helps and I am sure if I have anything incorrect then someone on here will correct me, which is what forums are for. Regards Mark
Thanks for your reply-that makes sense to me! I can't afford the other package at the moment, and as this is my only client so far after advertising for several weeks v14 sounds my best option at this point in time.
Just another thought about Sage Inatnt Accounts - my client runs 2 businesses so will I be able to use one package for them both. I haven't spoken to him yet as to how he inputs his data but his accountant advised him to get this software so presumably you can?!
Sage instant accounts is a single license for a single business. Theoretically you could constantly backup and restore but this would probably breach the licensing. And would also lead to making huge errors by thinking your working with one business and actually having the other loaded. I recommend you speak to Sage, they are really helpful.
