My name is Charles, I am 19 and live near blackburn lancashire.
Just really starting with the book keeping game working with two main clients, I am self employed but the clients I have really aren't going anywhere so there are no worries.
Biggest worry of the moment is getting all of the current accounts in order as they are a mess! Could really do with some help and hope I can eventually help too.
Faves are music such as Muse, my chemical romance, kings of leon, killers, also love the oldies. Fave song has got to be don't stop believeing my journey.
I like playin poker in my spare time but don't get much of it these days!
Hi Charles and welcome to the forum. I am sure that you will find some useful help on here.
My first client has given me receipts, invoices and pieces of paper from April 2007 so I know how you feel. I started by splitting them by month and year, putting them in date order and putting all the information into a spreadsheet and going from there. I am still wading through my work at the moment but starting to see light at the end of the tunnel.
I like Muse too and My Chemical Romance - Helena is one of my favourite songs, but my two favourite bands are Evanescence and Linkin Park.
Well I have been given the invoices etc and passwords to online banking along with cheque stubs but I'm just thinking of the best way to file them all and computerise them all.
Now I really don't want to start filing them one way then realise it wasn't the best way to do it half way through.
I'm downloading MS Accounting Express as suggested on a different thread and will give that a go. Also have myself a book! 'Book keeping made easy' haha so hopefully that will help.
I also want to eventually be able to provide accurate balance sheets and p&l sheets, certainly having trouble grasping the whole debit credit thing! Seems really easy but it won't stick...needs more looking in to!
