Opening Balnces

I am a newbie to this site and wonder if anyone can help me.  I have just taken over the bookkeeping for my parents business which was formerly  done by accountants.  However, I have been presented with list of items relating to year end.   The list it appears as :-  bank current account - match opening balance ajustment against transaction numbers.  I have never done journals at all and am using sage accounts .v12.  Advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.  Dizzy

Hi Dizzy, it's a bit difficult to answer your question without knowing what you year end adjustments are.
I use sage on a daily basis. If you want to send me a private message I should be able to help you if you like.

Beverley,

I have a spreadsheet of transactions and the  information provided by the accountants.  Can I sent these to you as an attachment ? as I need to do these to clear the year end for  March 2008 & input correct finanical year data on.  What is your email address for me to send the attachments to?

Many thanks for your offer of help - greatly appreciated.

Regards

Dizzy

It might be an idea to get a local Sage Trainer in to offer one to one assistance with getting started.  This is the type of service I offer in the Northampton/Milton Keynes area - it is worth it in the long run getting off to a good clean start and getting hints and tips from an experienced Sage User.
