Help please - Sage 50 Accounts Workbook and ICB Computer Exam
Permalink Closed

Hi
I have just sat my level one manual bookkeeping exam, and after feeling ripped off over the course fees, my accountant and I have decided to do it ourselves for the level 2 computerised.

He has bought me the Sage 50 Accounts Workbook CD and books.  I received a past paper from ICB and tried to install the restore file, nothing happened.

I have spent the last half hour manually creating the debtors and creditors and their opening balances, amid a bit of frustration over the date format.

For some reason it keeps asking for the date in a normal format i.e. DD/MM/YY but wont accept it, on the debtors and creditors I had to enter it as 31-003-01 to get it to work.

Now I have gone to enter opening balances into the nominal ledger it wont accept any format for date.  If I try and use the calendar it refuses and says the format is wrong.

Has anyone any experience of this or do I now have to go out and buy Sage Instant Accounts just to do the exams on??

I have had Sage experience previously, just not used it for a couple of years but dont feel like I need to go through a full home study course.

Any advice on this would be gratefully received.

Hi

If you google Sage forum and search through there or register and post a question. I have always found this site helpful espcially with more technical problems - had a clients sage that had date problem where could not post any transactions and it was a technical problem with settings on computer conflicting with sage and on the sage forum had detail of how to correct this problem.
