Fixed Assets - VAT Registration
Permalink Closed

Hi All,

Could someone clarify what you can reclaim vat on prior to registration.  I know that you can reclaim fixed asset purchase upto 3 years prior, would this include things such as motor repairs if the vehcile is still owned by the business ?

Any pointers would be really helpful

Julie

Hi Julie

I came across the same issue recently. I found the following HMRC link useful:

http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/vat/start/register/purchases-before.htm

Thanks Fay,

Yes, I had already checked out the HMRC site, just thought maybe someone else could throw more light on the subject with specific asset purchases etc., before becomming vat reg.

Thanks again.

Julie
