I'm not sure what's wrong with me at the moment but I don't see to have done very much yet and it needs to be back on Friday - Oh dear.
I think I chose a bad time to book this one as it's my year end at work at the moment at I'm so snowed under - I'm trying to get it done in the evening but they seems to be running out - so fingers crossed that it will all be done in time.
Sorry i've not been on here for ages - I just got mine in on time - it arrived on the final day, so i was cutting it rather fine.
Congratulations on your results you must be so pleased with your self - the exam was an absolute nightmare, not straight forward at all. I haven't heard yet so keeping everything crossed that I have got through - but not getting my hopes up to much, but checking everyday to see if my results are there - should know by 29th at the latest, so will let you know one way or another.
My full time work has been pretty full on the last month or so, been preparing for our annual audit oh joy! I submitted the draft accounts this morning and the on site audit takes place w/c 10th so that will be a busy week too.
Well I'd better get on - I'm just finalising some bits for a client.
Well I gave the ICB a call yesterday morning and didn't have much luck. I have to say the ICB have been really helpful up until now.
The lady I spoke basically checked to see what what happening and the results were not yet back from the markers. I asked when I could find out if I had passed and she said that it would be later today (Friday) or sometime next week!! I can't believe that even after waiting the full proper time I still don't know my results.
Anyway as soon as I know my results I will let you all know - So still keeping everything crossed :)
A bit off though isn't it - keeping you waiting all this time. I have just done the Payroll Diploma and can't help checking every day for the results ! I know they will go right up to the deadline though (or beyond like with you).

Thanks everyone your all so kind - still smiling proudly!
Shirley - I can't quite decide if I should do payroll or the self-assessment one first??? I need to get hold of some mock exam papers but there doesn't seem to be any on the ICB site to purchase at the moment.
What are you doing at the moment? did I recall from another post that you have just done your payroll one? maybe I should give that a go as I do payroll in my 'day job' at the moment anyway so hopefully it shouldn't be too bad.
I do need to think about taking the manual exams too - but not sure what is happening with them at the moment so I guess for me it's on the back burner for a month or 2 before I think about those.

I don't think they (ICB) do mock exams for the self-assessment. I'm sure I read on this forum that as the rules change from year to year there is no point. Maybe I'm wrong but it makes sense.

There isn't a mock exam for either the self assessment or the payroll exams with ICB.
I went on and did the self assessment exam which to be honest you can do with out studying as long as you have the HMRC Self Assessment Tax Return Book to refer to and have a lot of nerve with all the assumptions you have to make. I am now trying to study up on payroll but having difficulty disciplining myself to study.
Yes, I have just finished the Payroll Diploma and I am waiting for the results. If you do payroll in your day job you will find this a doddle !
I am looking at the Self Assessment exam too, I could not get hold of the "bible" for self assessment for love nor money without becoming an agent - so that is what I have done and have now ordered the "Self Assessment Tax return Guide" which I understand, from some of the guys on this forum, is what you need to be able to do the exam. I understand that Ideal Schools will be covering this subject from June as well.
My next exam goes with the diploma for "Small Business Finiancial Control" which came as part of the pack with Ideal Schools" and their "Career Path". Although I am having a couple of months off !! As I have just launched my own business and need to try and get some clients !
I do need to do my Level III manual but I am waiting to see how that goes as ICB are changing the way that is run - I am hoping to hear abit more at the Seminar in Brighton in June.
