Would say if it is for exams only you may be able to pick up a cheap secondhand sage 12 on ebay. Would say any other purpose ie for client or own bookkeeping it is advantageous to get a new latest version of instant or instant financial suite if you want payroll.
ICB computerised levels 11 and 111, I know that it is at my discretion which software I use, but the mock exam from ICB is sage V12 so I thought no need to reinvent the wheel for the exams.
Once qualified, I dont intend to continue with it. Val
Hi Val The exams can be based on later versions so just ask ICB when you order the exam. The data files are usually compatible with newer versions but not older ones. In other words you can restore up a version but not down so anything newer than V12 will be ok
The level 3 computerised exam requires knowledge of the level 3 Manual Bookkeeping syllabus.
Thanks for that gazal, really useful, seeing as I am having great difficulty getting a copy of V12.
I already have passed Manual level 1 and just sat Level 11 last week, awaiting results, intending to do Level 111 in Feb. By Easter should have full set, fingers crossed.
Thanks again, just off to price a later version of Sage, the best deals seem to be on V15, is this the latest do you know?
V15 is the latest. Be carefull buying off ebay. All sage software has to be registered after 30 days and if you buy a copy it will be useless. Sage have got some offers on at the moment orjust make sure it isnt a registered version
