I finally managed to register here, and having read everything on the forums was dying to be able to contribute.
I have been in the accounting field for 20 years, and finally getting around to doing AAT and then ACCA . I thought qualifications were just a piece of paper, but it has been an eye opener and I even learnt alot, gained a lot of confidence and thoroughly enjoyed it. Except for costings YUK!!!
I have worked in quite a few industries, but my best job was working for a safari company in Africa, where I got to go canoeing on the zambezi amongst the crocodiles, hippos and elephants, as well as doing the accounts.
I am still employed, having narrowly missing redundancy as the company I worked for was sold 3 months ago. Which got me thinking its time to get my own business up and running. So I look forward to reading your views and comments and hopefully I'll be able to offer advice when needed.
