Just thought that after a few posts that I'd finally put something on as an introduction.
My name is Emma and I'm a qualified accountant (ICAS). I own and run an accountancy practice in the west of Scotland. I started to view this site after being informed of it by a candidate I was interviewing. I regularly outsource bookkeeping work and thought this would be a good place to get a feel for the issues that bookkeepers have.
I believe in quality work and client care is the most important thing in my practice. I'm all for anyone becoming a bookkeeper but believe strongly that only those that are experienced should trade on a self employed basis.
As a qualified Accountant it would be good to get an insite into what you want, need prefer from Bookkeepers, with regard to what you receive, how it's presented, what formats etc
I am surprised you are welcoming someone who has been rude on several occassions, including telling someone who asked for advise on a trial balance to give up her client and get a job instead because they did not know what they were doing.
The views expressed in this post are my own personal (HRA protected) views, and are not representative of any organisation I have any involvement with.
I'm old school and always try to remain courteous no matter what. It does not mean I approve of the comments made and feel I have made that clear.
I personally wont be spending any more time on the debate of the virtues of experience and I think that we all know where Orange stands, so I can't see any reason for continuing it.
