Hi All,

One of my clients has informed me that they have lost 4/5 months worth of car park receipts, what would you suggest that they should do???

Hello Lorraine Is your client VAT REGISTERED Have they already claimed the Input Tax if so
you may be able to find the info from the Purchases day book or if Computerised from the
Purchases Invoice Summary. However if they are not vat registered or have never claimed the input tax then are the Car Park Reciepts a standard amount each month or do they vary greatly
IF they are a standard amount each month you can roughly estimate the figures. Just a point
to note if they have already claimed the VAT when the VAT INSPECTION TAKES PLACE The
Vat Inspector may require a refund. A Similar situation happened to me many years ago.
Regarding lost reciepts.

I should have put they aren't vat registered.

I will have a look to see if the months expenditure is roughly the same and if so a rough amount can be put through the accounts!

Hopefully that will be the case, I will keep you informed!

God I hope they are similar, it will be easier then lol !!!

You can always put through an average of the other months within the year if they are not similar - a true example of incomplete records!

I have had a look they differ slightly, I think it will be best to take an averge from the months I do have and then put that through, thanks for all your help.
