I'm now a member of a steering group charged with the building and setting up of a new community centre in the area. As part of this project, which has been going on for years, the business plan etc was developed with absolutely no financials, which I find rather odd.
My task is to try to get together some form of cash flow etc as it is part of the National Lottery funding criteria to at least have something to show.
Has anyone any idea of where I might get a chart of accounts or a good sample set of accounts I could work a model from? I've spent hours on google and have got through gallons of tea and about most of the skin on my forehead with scratching on it.
I do accounts for a charity and use Quickbooks. It has a good set of chart of accounts and any others needed are added by me as i go along. I would advise you to use a package as it will be the easier way to record payments/income, and produce instant reports.
