I am a new member of your forum, and have just sat my IAB Level 3 Acct & Adv. Bookkeeping. This is not arrogant but it was rather boring!! Fiddling with compulsory T accounts and journal entries at this level!
I just wanted to gather suggestions as to whether this IAB qual. would be recognised by employers and be sufficient in itself to get back into work, having been away for some time through ill health.
What do people think of the relative merits of IAB v ICB quals? It seems that level for level, ICB is more challenging than IAB. Would it be a good idea to sit the ICB Level 3 exam or is that pointless now?
Also, I want to do Level 3 Sage, and wondered whether ICB/IAB level 3 Comp. Acct are broadly the same.
On the manual front, does anyone have any view about IAB level 4 "Acct to Int'l Standards" ? Don't know anyone who has done it. Is it worth the time? I don't know if ICB has a post Level 3 qual.
Great if I could get some feedback on stuff you've all probably read about 100 times before!!
I would go down the routel of AAT as its widely recognised in the market. It depends how far you want to go really. I'm sure there will be a few suggestions from others. You can do AAT long distance learning, there a quite a few training providers. I use Premier Training, but there are others as well.
